    Thank you Celeste!

The only workbook I’ve seen is the digital workbook found in the recovery center tab above. Is there another one? I do have Twelve Steps and the Sacraments.

I’m in the eastern time zone so I assume the meeting time will be 8:00 PM for me.

Look forward to meeting you and the others Thursday evening.

Hi Celeste, I’m interested. What do I need to do to join the zoom meeting?

Kathy, your description of acceptance is a tremendous help to others, like myself, who are just starting on this recovery journey. My addiction is food compulsion and I’ve just recently discovered that I can’t change my eating behavior on my own. I need the grace of God to overcome this life-long struggle.

I offer up a prayer for you as you step into acceptance.

Another question…this workbook, is it the 12 Steps and the Sacrament workbook found under the “recovery tab above or is it an Overeaters Anonymous (in my case) workbook?

That would be terrific Jolene. I have no experience, am a complete newbie to the 12 Steps. What would we need to do?

My issue is disordered eating. I would love to start a virtual workbook discussion group for that addiction type, but don’t know how to go about it. If 4-5 other people would like to join me, I’m sure we can figure it out along the way. Please respond if you would like to join me. Adele

Celeste, I love knitting too. It’s a very relaxing hobby.

Hi, I’m Adele. I’m a wife of 34 years and my husband and I have 8 children who are grown and off in various parts of the US beginning their own lives. We have 2 grandchildren and 2 on the way. They are a joy!

A cradle catholic, I grew up in Roanoke, VA and now live in Fredericksburg, VA. Before having children I was a speech and language pathologist for the public school system. That work definitely prepared me to homeschool our kids, which I loved.

I have become reacquainted with garment sewing and am enjoying making my own clothes as well as gifts for family. I, like you Celeste (above), am an avid knitter.

Along with all of this, I also have suffered with disordered eating most of my life. I have tried so many diets, programs, self-control methods only to eventually fail and fail again.

What I really want is to be at peace with food. I’ve prayed for years about this but have found little relief. My concern is that I never will.

Being an optimist, however, I’m pleased to have found Catholics in Recovery and look forward to what God has to show me.
