“A great place to find a sponsor is at a meeting. Sometimes a sponsor finds us. Asking someone to be a sponsor requires some courage but I think God is very present in those moments when we recognize our need for help and with humility ask someone for that help. When you ask someone to be your sponsor, they might ask you, ‘Are you willing to go to any lengths to find recovery?’ Your answer might determine whether or not they are willing to be your sponsor. But if you answer yes, when the work gets hard you can remember that you said you were willing to go to any lengths to find recovery with your sponsor’s help and this can motivate you to keep going.” - Scott W.
