In today’s first reading, a crippled man is cured by his faith in Jesus while those in the man’s company look on in amazement. Peter addresses them, “You children of Israel, why are you amazed at this, and why do you look so intently at us as if we had made him walk by our own power or piety?” (Acts 3:11-26)
This is one of many examples that nothing is impossible for God. Like the onlookers in today’s reading, we too can initially be in disbelief about God’s infinite power and ability to aid our recovery. However, when we choose to believe our disbelief turns into awe and strength. When we believe, it becomes easier to surrender to God’s will and rely on Him to be the author of our lives. Even though life will still give us challenges, we can trust in God and His plan and experience His healing and merciful touch like that of the crippled man.
Reflection Questions
- Do you believe that God can restore you to sanity? If not, how can you strengthen your faith to get to that point?
- Are you trusting in God’s plan for your life? Can you strive today to “let go and let God?”
