Reflections

Wednesday of the Sixth Week of Easter
← Back to Dashboard

In today’s Gospel reading, Jesus says to His disciples, “I have much more to tell you, but you cannot bear it now. But when he comes, the Spirit of truth, he will guide you to all truth” (John 16:12-13). We come to learn that the Holy Spirit will lead us in truth when we begin working the Twelve Steps. Our journey will be long and painful, yes, but one led by truth that “will set [us] free” (John 8:32).

Let us remember today that we are the children of God led by His truth, believing heaven and earth are full of His glory so that we can remember, too, that we are special and beloved in His eyes.

Reflection Questions

  • What were the “minor gods” of your addiction/unhealthy attachments that you worshiped at the expense of worshiping the one true God? Are there still “minor gods” in your life that you need to surrender to the Father?
  • How can you allow yourself to be led more fully by “the Spirit of truth” today in your recovery and faith journey?
