Reflections

Tuesday of the Ninth Week in Ordinary Time
← Back to Dashboard

I think of those of us in recovery now and how much we had suffered in the past due to our blindness. Many of us sought help in many forms but it was not until we became honest without ourselves and willing to surrender that we could begin the process of finding healing. Are we fully “cured?” No. For many of us, keeping our addiction at bay will remain a constant struggle all the days of our life. Yet, we are not alone. We have the one with the power to help and heal us—our Lord, Jesus Christ—and we also have each other in the fellowship of recovery.

Reflection Questions

  • How did your addiction keep you in a state of spiritual blindness? How did you discover the remedy to this blindness and what led you to finally surrender to it?
  • How can you turn to the Lord today and ask Him to give you sight for other areas of your life that are still covered by “cataracts”?
