Thursday of the Fifteenth Week in Ordinary Time

I have shared these exact verses from Scripture with most of my friends, coworkers, and family when they are struggling. It always seems to give them peace. It’s important to note that Jesus isn’t telling us that all of our burdens will disappear but, rather, that they will be lightened as He comforts us. But even though I have shared these verses many times I still don’t always take them to heart in my own life! Today, let us spend time with Him and learn from Him in prayer. “Come to me,” He says. Let us all come to Him so that He will give us rest.

Reflection Questions

  • Reflect on a time in your life when you needed rest. How did Jesus offer you rest?
  • Is there a certain Scripture passage that you share often with others? If so, what can you apply from it to your own life today?
