Monday of the Seventh Week in Ordinary Time

In recovery, we finally come to understand that there is an easier, softer way to healing. If we get out of our own way and admit that our way is not the best way, we can recover and live a life worth living. Instead of embracing our stubbornness and self-will, we learn to let go daily and ask God to “have compassion on us and help us.” And we come to see that God always responds to such a plea with His mercy and healing.

Reflection Questions

  • What areas of your life are relying on your own knowledge as opposed to God’s wisdom? Consider asking Him to have compassion on you and to help you.
  • How has living from a place of God’s wisdom been better than living from a place of your own knowledge and self-will?
