Memorial of Saint John Neumann, Bishop

In the Kingdom, our role as laborers is to attract others with the love bestowed upon us. By showcasing the changes in our lives as a result of our faith and recovery, we simply invite others to “come and see” and allow Jesus to handle the heavy lifting. Recognizing our identity in Jesus and His power, as opposed to relying on our own promotional efforts, enhances our effectiveness in sharing the message of recovery with others.

Reflection Questions

  • Reflecting on Philip’s approach of inviting Nathaniel to “come and see” rather than a conventional sales pitch, how can we enhance our invitations to others encouraging them to explore their spiritual experiences in recovery?
  • Considering Jesus’ power as opposed to relying solely on our own efforts, how can a change in attitude empower us to be more effective in conveying the message of recovery to those around us?
