In today’s Gospel reading, Jesus offers us His body and blood as spiritual food and drink to foster and sustain the conversion of His apostles’ souls as well as our own. He tells us:
“Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day” (John 6:53-54).
Like Paul, let us eat and drink the body and blood of Christ regularly to sustain and deepen our conversion as we continue on the road to recovery.
Reflection Questions
- Who on your road to recovery helped you to see the “great light” of God’s presence in your life? How can you bring this light to others through your own conversion story?
- How has the Holy Eucharist served as food in your recovery journey?
