With Thanksgiving taking place this week and the winter holidays upon us, we might face some unique challenges and opportunities this time of the year. In particular, expectations put on ourselves and others might be heightened, the temptation to indulge in addictive substances or behaviors increases, and family tension has a tendency to bubble up more this time of year than any other.
What are some of the healthy ways you prepare for the holidays? Please share them here and let’s begin and maintain this important conversation through the end of the year.
Catholic in Recovery will have a variety of resources and fellowship opportunities available, beginning Tuesday, November 21 at 8p ET/5p PT as we’ll gather for a webinar titled Serenity, Sanity, and Sobriety through the Holidays. Find more information and register at this link: https://my.catholicinrecovery.com/webinar/webinar-signup/
We hope to see you there!
December 2023 at 11:26 am #48931Scott WeemanKeymasterThe recording of our November webinar – Serenity, Sanity, and Sobriety through the Holidays – is now availabe on the CIR+ Recovery Center. We had a wonderful discussion led by 4 CIR community members with experience in recovery from alcoholism, drug addiction, food addiction, lust addiction, and the family impact of addiction. There are many nuggets of wisdom shared throughout the recording and I highly recommend you check it out as we approach Christmas.
