I found one definition that is helpful to me: “Being emotionally dependent on the behavior of another person.” Is there more to it than that? How do others define it?

That is a great definition! Lately, I’ve been thinking of my codependency as “being addicted to the positive emotional responses of other people, resulting from some sort of action I just took.”

I agree with both of these posts about what is co-dependency. It makes sense that what I am seeking in recovery in emotional awareness, emotional intelligence and emotional sobriety.
