Saint Liborius of Le Mans

(d.396) Little is known of the life of Liborius. He was a Gaul born to nobility who became a priest, then the second bishop of Le Mans in modern-day northwestern France. He is said to have died in the arms of his good friend, Saint Martin of Tours, making Liborius a patron saint of a good death. His relics were transferred to Paderborn, Germany, in 835, which led to a sister-city relationship that persists to this day, and has contributed to Saint Liborius becoming a symbol of unity and peace.

In recovery, we focus on our similarities rather than our differences. Quite often, various addictions and unhealthy attachments are from similar roots. How has unity in your fellowship led you to insights you might not have perceived otherwise?

“I, then, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to live in a manner worthy of the call you have received, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another through love, striving to preserve the unity of the spirit through the bond of peace” (Ephesians 4:1-3).
