As I ponder these questions, I am reminded of how small, hard, and lifeless my heart was during the last few years of my drinking. There did not seem to be any hope left in it, for all my trust had been placed on what was in that bottle. It was not until I hit bottom and decided to go to rehab that my small, hard, and lifeless seed of a heart was planted in the richness of the AA program. Today, my life is no longer “lifeless.” It is full and rich—a large shrub housing the many blessings of sobriety. I will be forever grateful for all that God has done with just a mustard seed of faith. Today, let us nourish this small seed of faith in our hearts so that God can do wondrous things with it in our lives.
