At the end of Mass, the priest tells us what the Lord wants from us, which is to “go and spread the good news.” We are to become soldiers for Christ, which we do by modeling Christ’s service and living out our recovery with hope. We are called to hold out our hands to our suffering brothers and sisters in our parishes and recovery circles, helping them on their path of faith and recovery. This is our mission in life, to show others the narrow way that leads to joy and freedom.
Reflection Questions
- What was your experience with the Catholic faith at the beginning of your recovery? How has it evolved as you have deepened your recovery?
- What hindered your working of the steps on your path or recovery, and how did Jesus and the Holy Spirit help you? Guilt and shame can be major obstacles on our recovery path. What tools did you use and do you still use to overcome these obstacles?
