Dr. Shauna Shapiro writes in Good Morning: I love you, that “human suffering is what allows all of us to share in our common humanity.” This insight entails a key aspect of the good news. God, who brings all things into existence, suffered amongst us and shared in our common humanity so that we may share in His divinity. In recovery, let us also share our common humanity with others, sharing our experience, strength, and hope so that they may “know a new freedom and a new happiness.”
Reflection Questions
- What is something you have felt enthusiastic about that you just had to share with someone? Do you have this same enthusiasm when it comes to sharing things related to your recovery?
- What can you do today to share your recovery or faith with someone in need?
