Reflecting on what our lady asked of Saint Dominic and connecting it to our recovery, we too are invited to meditate on the Holy Rosary and turn our lives to the care of God. Instead of worrying about “results,” we are called to focus on Jesus Christ as our ultimate goal; in doing this, slowly but surely, things will begin to improve, and, as Our Lady told Saint Dominic, “True faith [will] win out.” It might not look like we thought it would, or even what we wanted, but it will be in accordance with the will of God and, therefore, what’s best for us.
Today offers us an opportunity to increase our devotion to the Holy Rosary and offer it up for those who still suffer from addiction, compulsions, and unhealthy attachments. Our Lady, please pray for us.
Reflection Questions
- In what ways have you struggled to make “progress” in your recovery life? By considering the situation through the Lord’s eyes, what might He want you to draw from these struggles?
- Consider praying the Holy Rosary today and, perhaps, daily for others. Who can you pray for today?
